The information we collect from the website is used to improve the content of our web page, to notify consumers about updates to our Web site, to maintain membership data and communication, process volunteer donation transactions and to contact consumers for marketing purposes only in relation to the Museo del Prado and the American Friends of the Prado Museum. Some of the membership data will be shared with the Museo del Prado for access purposes and activities of the museum. We DO NOT sell, interchange or share our member, donor, or visitor personal information to third parties for any use.
We collect the domain name of visitors to our website, the e-mail addresses of those who provide it to us or who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages users access or visit, user-specific information on what pages users access or visit, and information volunteered, such as membership information.
You may volunteer to become a member of American Friends of the Prado Museum and make a donation or contact us with your questions or comments.
For each visitor to our webpage, our Web server automatically recognizes the visitor’s domain name or Internet Protocol address. An Internet Protocol ("IP") address is a number that is automatically assigned to every computer connected to the Internet. When visitors request pages from our Web site, our servers log the visitors' IP addresses. We do not normally link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, which means that a visitor's session will be logged, but the visitor remains anonymous to us. We collect IP addresses for the purposes of system administration and to audit the use of our site. We also use IP addresses to collect statistical information for promotional purposes. We may use IP addresses to identify a user when we believe it is necessary to enforce compliance with the terms governing use of our site or to protect our services, site, customers, or others.
